1710 and printing Excel gridlines

Just purchased a 1710 Laser
The unit does not print gridlines in MS Excel (Selected under File/Page Setup/Sheet) - gridlines show in print preview mode
Never had a problem with any of the many other printers over the years

Dell Hardware have no ideas and suggest it is a software issue

Any ideas?

Just got one as well. Found the same "problem". It will print the gridlines if you choose "Properties" in the print menu, go to "Print quality" and select "Normal". Why it doesn't select this by default is something I have to take up with Dell.

So if it is a software issue... perhaps the driver, or the way the driver interacts with Excel?

Thanks

Gridlines now print fine - lost some control of patterns within cells but that is no big deal

Thanks again

... or install a Lexmark Laser 230/232-driver. Works the same, looks the same, but is more stable, and it does not seem to forget about settings.
Works fine with me.

I am having this problem as well. Very irritating. New 1710 user (printer barely has 50 pages on it) with the driver off the Dell web site. It's happening in XP SP2 with Excel 2003.
