Dell 3100CN Streaking Issues
I just replaced the black toner in my 3100CN. I had previously replaced the Cyan toner and after the Cyan toner was replaced the printer exhibited the streaking issues discussed at http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3528/t/18584959.aspx. I did not fix that issue as I rarely print full page photos and didn't want to take sandpaper to my drum. After I replaced the black toner I now have new streaking down the right side of the page. I did tilt the toner back and forth to even it out before installing it, and I did use the rod on the side after the installation to clean whatever it cleans. The printer has under 12,000 pages on it and is saying that I should replace the drum soon but that the drum is currently okay. Both replacement toners (Cyan and Black) that I used were genuine Dell toners. Below are pictures of what my printouts look like now (it's harder to see on the yellow printout but it has white streaks at the bottom as well -- the black printout does not have the white streaks at the bottom though). Can anyone here diagnose and explain what I need to do to fix this? Is it time to junk this behemoth and get a new color laser?

Could the problems with the black ink be due to a faulty (new :( ) black toner cartridge, or does the fact that it shows up on "20% CMY" pages (which I assume do not use the black cartridge), indicate that the problem lies outside the black toner cartridge?

Does anyone here have any thoughts on how to fix this? I hate to junk this printer if it can be fixed with a new black toner cartridge and removing two screws from the drum. It will take up so much space in a landfill. :emotion-6: On the other hand I hate to throw money into another toner cartridge if it won't fix the problems with the black lines.

No input at all from Dell or anyone on this?
