010-397  is a fuser error

To reseat the fuser, perform the following steps:

CAUTION:   The fuser cover can become hot after extended use.  Please wait 5-10 minutes after the last print before handling.

1.       Power off the printer.

2.       Unplug the power cable.

3.       Open the paper cover  or the duplexer.

4.       Lift the securing levers on the right and left side of the fuser to release it.

5.       Lift the fuser up from the printer.

6.       Insert the fuser back on to the printer.

7.       Push back the blue securing levers on the right and left side of the fuser to click the fuser into place.

8.       Close the paper cover or duplexer.

9.       Plug in the power cable.

10.    Power on the printer.

If the error message is gone the printer is working as designed if the message persists: call Dell technical support  @ 1 800 822 8965 option 3 then option 1 and enter your Express Service Code into the phone,.

The fuser might need replacing or it could be the fuser interlock switch
