Dell 5535nd problem

My problem is that if I select cancel from the touch screen, a menu comes up asking for a password. There has never been a password set up on this printer. I think that some users were pushing buttons and accidently put a password in. It reads " Enter Basic Security Password Building Block Password for Cancel Job". Dell says there is no way of removing this menu now that it comes up.  I can change the jumper inside the printer, but I would like to know another way in case this happens again.
