Dell Trial Sized Cartridges for 720 Refilled- Color Works Well, Black is Faded

Hello, all. I do hope to find an answer here.

I've had my Dell Photo Printer (720) for just over one year. Midway through 2005, the trial sized ink cartridges ran out of ink. Recently, I had them refilled at my local Office Max. When printing, I notice the colored ink prints fine but the black ink is severly faded. Why would this occur and what can I do? I assumed they refilled the catridges to capacity.

I have soaked the cartridges to alleviate clogs. Aside from printing numerous test pages, which only serves to use up whatever ink I do have, is there a solution?

Thanks very much for any help provided.

Other people on this forum have complained about refilled ink carts from some of these stores. You shouldn't pay almost as much for a refilled ink cart that doesn't work well, as you would for a new one from Dell. If hot water soaking didn't help then there isn't much else you can do. You must not do much printing if the trial size ink cart lasted over 1 year. I go through 4 extra capacity black ink carts per month. Luckily I refill my own for $2.50 per fill. They have always worked fine.
