Dell network 1320c not printing across network
Please, please help. I have 1320c for just over a year so it is out of support. It has been running fine but now it has stopped printing. I can print a test page by holding the button down but when I try to print from a computer it keeps popping up with "the document could not be printed".
I'm not sure why it has done this but I recently have a new laptop so I have installed the driver on there and I have upgraded the memory in my desktop. So I have a wireless router and the printer is connected to it via an ethernet cable. I have 2 laptops and a desktop but none of them can print, their wireless is all working fine though. I am running XP on all 3.
I tried connecting it via usb but that didn't seem to work either. No printer appeared.
I have spent about 4 hours on this now and I am getting very stressed as I have to print out a contract for monday.
When I start the software installation it says there are no printers. If I try and add and use the IP address on the printout it seems to recognise the printer is there but when it gets to the point where it asks me to print a test page it will not print.
Thanks you for your help
Sophie

Hi "SophieBaker",
Sorry I didn't see your post until today. Hope you found an alternate way to print that doc you needed to print. They always break when we need 'em the most, huh?
If I read into what you saying:
(Also, for some unknown reason, when you connect via USB, it does not initiate the PnP sequence.)
What is the IP address listed on the P-S page?
From your computer, can you "ping" that IP address?

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply, I admit I am not very good when the tech doesn't work. I get really frustrated. I got a friend to print the doc for me and then on monday I had the ReIPL the router moment just because I wanted to do something and nothing else worked. Lo we are are working nicely. I didn't do it earlier because the rest of the network was ticking away nicely. You live and learn.
