OEM ink cartridges

Question

Hi,

I have a V515W ink jet and I would like to know if folks have experience with other than Dell ink cartridges.

I use the series 23 0r 21.

The 23's last for about 150 pages. The 21's last not at all. About 75 pages. I'm mainly talking about the black.

I don't have to worry about warranty.

I do see several sites that offer OEM and what look like Dell cartridges.They say Dell and they look exactly like the Dell ones I have.

It's not worth it if they will ruin the print head.

After doing some searching on this site, I think I found my answer. There are some brands that work well.

There is also the refilling possibility. I am going to do the refilling, since I need to order a new print head anyway.

If the refill ink ruins the old printhead, so what.

One color is streaky. I will let you know how that goes.

Any other info is appreciated.

Del,

Some generic brands work, and some don't. You'll still get the low ink message and there is nothing you can do to reset it. I refrain from telling which brands, in case they don't work. I hope you understand the reason. Let me know how things are going.
