P713w cartridge communication

I am getting an error message:  "There is interference with the black ink cartridge communication".  I've ordered new cartridges and still received the same message.  It now has added a new error message: "There is interference with the color ink cartridge communication".  I've updated the firmware and software.  I've pulled the cartridges out and put them back in and tried to copy but it just says that the cartridges are low which they are not.  I can't clean nor align them because of this message.  I am to the point that I will never again purchase a Dell printer.

Jennifer,

Are you usinf Dell Series brand cartridges?

Try reading...

and

Troubleshooting Printhead Problems on the Dell AIO V313w, V515w, V715w, P513w, and P713W Printers

Shake the Dell Series cartridges to make sure the sensor is loose.

If these are new Dell Series cartridges, take them to the place of purchase for a replacement.

I am getting the same thing.  I tried all of the same "fixes" you tried with the same result.  Many printer functions don't work due to this problem overriding everything.  I also note that my warranty just expired a couple of months ago.  Hmmm...could Dell be building in planned obsolenscence so we're forced to buy a new printer?  I feel the same way...maybe it's time to jump ship and go with HP or somw other printer manufacturer!! ...and never buy another Dell printer!!!

I am getting the same error message. I have gone through all of the troubleshooting pages and tried all of the suggestions I can. None have worked. I have even tried uninstalling the entire printer and reinstalling it. The weirdest thing is that everything worked just fine for a while and then this error came up so I know my cartridges are compatible. I didn't change anything between it working and the error appearing. I also can't try cleaning the print head because when I open the cover it does not move to the center like it should.

jessicarh33,

This printer can act as a copying machine without being attached to a computer? If yes, can you copy a document under the glass, black and white and color?

It has the capability to copy, not connected to a computer, but the display will not change from the error message, no matter what buttons I press. As long as this error message is present the only responsive button is the power button. Also, the error message is present whenever the printer is on whether it's connected to a computer or not.

jessicarh33,

Unplug the printer from the wall. Then remove the power brick for 60 seconds. This will reset any error messages the printer is getting.
