Printer 926-how can I print without internet access

Question

I recently bought a Dell Printer '926'  I do not want it to communicate with the internet.  When I print, my firewall comes up asking in I want communication with my printer server. I guess that's fine but when I want to print it ask to be conncected to the internet. Are all companies making printers to have access to the internet? It concerns me. Can I disconnect this feature and print without having access to the internet? Someone help me-Please. Thank you :smileysad:

The 926 connects to the PC with a USB cable.  You do not need a 'network' to print to the unit.    Apparently you did not install the unit correctly.   Go back over the installation instructions that came with the unit.    The correct install sequence is to run the installation program and ONLY when the program tells you then physically connect the unit to PC using a USB cable.  When installed correctly you do not even use the firewall or internet as it is physically directly connected to the PC.  (This, by the way, is the usual way to connect a peripheral to a PC).

This is my 3rd printer and I followed the instructions step by step.  Apparently, you are being a bit condescending and I appreciate your help but this is not my first time hooking up a peripheral to a PC.

Well, you were talking about the internet and from the way it was posted I assumed you had tried hooking it up through a local LAN network.    Exactly what is the problem with the installation, via USB?
