V305w: Photo Print Cartridge will not install

Question

I have an old 305 with a strange problem. I wanted to print some photos and took out the color cartridge. I tried to install a photo cartridge that I had used before (had wrapped it in Saran Wrap). The cartridge went in fine but the latch wouldn't stay down. I put the standard color cartridge back in and it latched just fine. After many attempts I opened a new photo cartridge and it also would not latch. Looking very close I could see no difference in appearance between the normal and photo color cartridges. What am I missing?

Mike, The black cartridge needs to be removed and the photo cartridge goes in where the black cartridge is supposed to be. The color cartridge stays in the color side. Rick

The cartridges need to be like below.

black cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

photo cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

Yes I know which side the cartridges go. My black cartridge was still in the printer when I tried to install the photo color cartridge. And the regular color cartridge popped right in when I gave up on the photo color cartridge. What's your next best solution?

Mike, Does seem kinda strange to replace the black with the photo and leave the color one in, but that's what is needed. Take care, Rick
