Dell Quickset..XPS M1730

Cannot update or install Dell Quickset? It used to work fine..I cleaned out the computer with a spyware and i think it corrupted the program..I tried to remove the program, It won't let me..The icon is no longer in my tray. If I go to "start- all programs- dell- dell quickset "...It says empty...

I go to c: programs files-dell-quickset     and the is a version in there but it is the wrong one for the XPS M1730..So you can't adjust anything..

I tried downloading the R135329 version driver which i read is the correct one...And it ends up telling me "system is not supported , cannot complete"

Any help is appreciated..I'm very stuck here..

Thanks

Check out this link and read the section on quickset:

Not sure what OS you're using but there are links for 32 & 64 bit vista along with references to Win7.

Also, if you think there is a problem with previous install use CCleaner to scan and remove any left overs.

You could try R180762 for 32-bit VISTA, or R182249 for 64-bit VISTA. Both drivers can be found under the Applications Category in..

Which brings me to the question, what Operating system are you using?

The version you referenced in the first post R135329 is for XPS M1710. Go to the driver section for the M1730 and choose Windows XP the Quickset file will be R180759.

Try this link for the M1730 XP drivers/apps

On that, try system restore to take you back to an ealier point before the quickset problem.

Did you try CCleaner ? You can use it to uninstall and also do a registry scan to clean it up. Short of getting lucky with some 3rd part app like that, a factory restore or OS re-install might have to be your solution.
