What it says when trying to install the correct driver ...059 It says cannot recognize system cannot continue...A window pops up quick like it's going to install then i get the error message..
The version you referenced in the first post R135329 is for XPS M1710. Go to the driver section for the M1730 and choose Windows XP the Quickset file will be R180759.
Yes thats my exact problem..The wrong one is installed..I cannot uninstall it and cannot install the correct one either...I keep getting the "system cannot be recognized cannot continue"..I need a way to uninstall the wrong one or install the right one.
Yeah CCleaner won't uninstall it either..Thats as far as my knowledge goes..Might have to have someone else looka t doing a clean install I guess..Computer works fine..I just can't adjust any of the lights???
Did you try CCleaner ? You can use it to uninstall and also do a registry scan to clean it up. Short of getting lucky with some 3rd part app like that, a factory restore or OS re-install might have to be your solution.

Check out this link and read the section on quickset:
http://xpsm1730.blogspot.com/2009/03/xps-m1730-vista-drivers-64-bit.html
Not sure what OS you're using but there are links for 32 & 64 bit vista along with references to Win7.
Also, if you think there is a problem with previous install use CCleaner to scan and remove any left overs.

You could try R180762 for 32-bit VISTA, or R182249 for 64-bit VISTA. Both drivers can be found under the Applications Category in..

Which brings me to the question, what Operating system are you using?

On that, try system restore to take you back to an ealier point before the quickset problem.
