This exact same thing is happening to me.  Did you find out how to fix it?

I've had the same issues with my 3300mp, and received the 'lamp failure' message the within two weeks of purchasing.  Dell sent and replacement bulb and the message stayed on.  They sent a replacement unit that has worked fine for the past year, but now the 'lamp failure' message has returned.  I've turned it on since and haven't been getting the error message, but don't want to send it out of the office until I know it's not going to mess up someone's presentation.

I haven't seen any replies from Dell on this topic--so has anyone came up with a fix on their own?

Our projector did this intermittently too before it failed.  I believe either there is an error with the sensor or the heat from the bulb is causing something to go wrong on the circuit board.  I would return it immediately and have Dell send a replacement projector.  It is obviously a hardware problem and not related to the software or the bulb.  Dell has a really good warrenty problem and I would try to get it extended as long as possible on this unit.

Same problem as the others...lamp blew, replaced lamp and now have a message "Lamp Blower Failure". and the temp light is blinking..any solution??? I can't find anything on line regarding this problem. My projector is not under warranty so sending it back for a replacement is not a possibility.

We wondered if when the lamp blew, the glass damaged the blower???

Any answers will be appreciated!!

Even after taking it to a repair person, it was unable to be fixed because they said something about the mainboard being damaged. Dell doesn't replace this projector out of warranty (only the bulbs) so Im pretty much out of extra money and time. So so sad... should have went with a better brand.

WOW!  I have a projector doing the exact same thing.  Its 6 months out of warrenty and it will be about 400 bucks to fix.  It appears that dell may have a bigger problem and that this is not just a one-off.

When I power-on my 3300mp the little screen says "Warming Up". After a few minutes this message changes to "3300mp". Then after a few seconds it reads "Lamp Failure". I bought a replacement lamp, installed it as well, and STILL.... it does the same thing.  When the projector is first powered on it beams out a little light then after the "Lamp Failure" message, the whole unit freezes. The only way to power-off is by disconnecting the cord. Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance.

i have encountered this problem with a different model the 5100MP. it has happened to at least 4 different projectors and it is intermittent also. nobody seems able to offer a reason or a solution. this is obviously quite widespread. the fact it is occuring in different models suggests a bigger problem that i hope dell addresses soon. if anyone can enlighten me on the cause and or fix of said fault it would be much appreciated.

You might try keeping the side vents clear if they are dirty/dusty looking. Mine started shutting down before I cleaned them with a shop vac and now it still runs after 518 hours. I would think those that just replace the bulbs without cleaning the vents are just prematurley burning the system out by overheating it.

So not sure if these will help anyone else, but you will continue to get the lamp failure message until you replace the cover for the replaced lamp.  I left it off to make sure it was working and continued to get the message.  There is a contact switch that is actuated by the bottom plate.

I had this same problem on two projectors and after much exasperation, I cut through the side of one projector with an angle grinder and then exposed the lamp wire insulation on both sides of the lamp plug. I found that the plug and socket were not making contact. When you plug in the new bulb, if the bulb plug is not exactly aligned with the socket, the plug pushes the socket through the bottom of its plastic housing. The bulb feels like it has 'clicked' into place, but in fact, it has detached the socket from its holder and the plug and socket are not electrically in contact.
