is 3200MP Lamp life 3000+ hours not 2000?

After doing some research into locating cheaper souces for replacement bulbs for my 3200MP - I discovered some tech sheets indicating the bulb has a life span of over 3000 hours (where as the dell spec states 2000)

e.g. this site shows the average bulb life to be >3000 hours!!

Can anyone confirm this?

Unless I'm mistaken, this is the same bulb as used in the lamp assembly for the 3200mp and some other projectors (OSRAM VIP-R 150/P16) The current bulb that I have in has now run just over 2100 hours. Brightness only slightly darker than that of a new bulb I also own. I have removed it and inspected it.

Older projectors that I owned, the bulb glass was noticably darkened when the bulb was near the end of its life. This is not the case when I inspected the current bulb.

To me it looks like 2000 hours is an estimate by dell to cover themselves. Has anyone ran the bulb in there projector for 3000+ hours? How long did your bulb last before destructing/refusing to start?
