Vasily, wow! First let me welcome you to the community, but I have to admit that with two Expert certifications and planning your third .....well, it's amazing!
Can you tell us how these certifications have helped you in your job or career? I'd think they certainly win you instant credibility, but you surely know the benefits better than I do!
Exams will be available at EMC World, we're all glad you're planning to take advantage of that opportunity and hope that many other attendees do as well.

I'm Mike McNamara and currently have my EMCPA and I'm working towards my Specialist in EMCSA for Symmetrix Business Continuity.
I've been with EMC since 2000 and have worked on the Symmetrix product line since starting, first as a Product Support Engineer (PSE) then moving up to Technical Support Level 2 (TS2).

Michelle,
I have recently moved jobs and would like to sit specialist exams.
What I need now is to get up to speed with the kit at my new environment.
I will then look at exams later.
I found that the practice exams aren't that close to the real ones either.
Therefore hands on with kit actually helps.
WOW member 100 !!!!
Regards
Mac

Hi Mac, the practice exams are really intended to give you an idea of what areas you may need to focus on before taking the exam. Nothing beats a combination of learning and a bit of experience. Good luck on your pursuit of speicalist level certification, please be sure to let us know how you do!

I've also found that taking the practice exam gives you a better overview of what the actual certification is for. For example, I was originally going for my EMCST for Storage Technologist based on just the description of the course. Once I took the practice course and discovered that it included such things as knowing the financial's I realized that for what I do that it had nothing to do with my job so I decided to change tracks to one more appropriate for my job.

Hi Matthew, we're always happy when people find us...so welcome!
I'm so interested in people who purse EMCPA certification. Can you tell us a little about why you, with all your years of experience, chose this particular certification? And how it has helped you in your job or career?

Hi Michelle.
I looked at EMC certification as a way of validating my knowledge. I chose the ISM cert as the entry point on my way to other certifications like NAS (Specialist) and product specific paths like DiskXtender for Windows. I would also be interested in a Rainfinity certification if / when one is available.
What it has delivered so far is greater credibility among my peers. I am able to converse intelligently with my teammates who specialize in SAN / DMX / Invista and they are pleasantly suprised. And, for those who only look at credentials...well there's that as well.
On the job, I find myself thinking even more in terms of "the big picture". Instead of framing a business challenge merely by my own expertise, I am able to draw from a larger well and realize there are other possibilities to get my customer's problems solved.
Kind regards,
Matt

Hi Matt -
You will be happy to know that EMC Proven Professional does offer a Rainfinity certification. Rainfinity falls under the Product Technology track, exam number E22-270.

Hello all!
I've been working with EMC solutions for a year and a half now (quite new, I know) and I already have the STF certification (tokk it June last year) and working for NAS/SAN this year; already have scheduled NAS for end of april and SAN for June/July..
I'm supporting Storage Environments for American Airlines employed by EDS; working with all kinds of EMC techs, Clariions, Celerra, Centera, Symmetrix, etc.
A great cheer for all of you from here; and I hope we get along to keep learning from each other.
Thank you!
