Both the PE2950 III and PE1950 III support 32GB of memory and (2) Quad Core Processors. Both have 1333MHz front side buses. Both servers have a maximum of 2697 BTU/hr Heat Dissipation. Dell does not list the Acoustical Noise Emissions for their equipment, but I don't think there is a significant difference between the two. The differences are in the amount of drive space and PCI slots:
PE2950 supports up to 4.5TB and 3 PCI slots
PE1950 supports up to 1.5TB and 2 PCI slots
Dell makes numerous other 1U and 2U models but in general the same can be said for all of them.
