Add RAM: Error pr11: part replacement license is not present
During the year, I purshased a used R710. I added RAM to give him more power. (2x16gig and 4x 8gig). But recently, I view that not all RAM is viewed by VMWare (only 48gig)
I tried to look on BIOS, and Itonly see 48gig. I also gone into System Service. The system see hardware changes, ask me to reboot to configurenew hardware config, but on POST, I have the message:
Message PR1: Replaced part detected for device: DDR3 DIMM(Socket A2)
Message PR11: part replacement license is not present, replacement action(s) will not be ferformed
Same for socket B2 ...
In System Service, I looked at the "original" configuration and the server had 6x 16gig DIMM, I tried to insert my DIMM into the same socket, maybe ... And it not solved the problem.
In System service menu, I saw something like "Reset hardware config", but as I have the license error, will it be able to rebuild config ?
As I purchased the server used, I have no idea if the licensing about this.
Can I do something to see all my 64Gb, and on the right size in the right Socket?
Thanks

Hi, thanks for choosing Dell. Can you screenshot the error for us? We would like to see where you Reset hardware config. And what license error are we talking here?

First, on boot, I see memory errors
R710_memory error 2R710_memory error 1
When I boot in System Service/Hardware Configuration/Hardware Inventory/View Current Inventory, I can see this error:
If I click No to see current Inventory, I can see only 4 socket are configured
(But as I said previously, I have 6 DIMM installed)
If I click yes, to reboot, I have this error on boot:

Hello Janus_006,
Are all DIMMs good? If you need to test use 2 identical DIMMs at a time (in A1 and B1) to see if any fail.
Please review the Memory installation guidelines page 129 : https://dell.to/3jBRUhF
Each processors memory must be configured identically.
When using mixed capacity DIMM - put largest DIMMs first
Cannot mix UDIMM and RDIMM
Check if you're in Optimizer mode in the BIOS
You may give these configuration a try:
Optimizer mode:
A1 - 16G
A2 - 4G
A3 - 4G
B1 - 16G
B2 - 4G
B3 - 4G

Get to the "RESET MENU" that says wipes everything
Literally says "to repurpose or destroy"
Say Yes there and reboot.
If you have the RAM in the right SLOTS (balanced & what is allowed, the error should clear).
