Hi, thanks for choosing Dell. I'm afraid the rack part you are looking for can't not be purchased any longer. We are sorry we can't be of help this time.

The 4220  goes End of sales years ago.  The keys are the same for all 4220 including the predecessor rack.
The OEM of the racks was RITTAL.

Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me if the Dell PowerEdge 4210 front door will work with the 4220 rack? If they are interchangeable, I can just purchase a 4210 door and replace the original door.

You mentioned the keys are the same as the predecessor rack (4210). Do you know if I can take the front door from a predecessor (4210) rack and put it on the 4220 rack?

Thanks for your reply.

Hi, what you wish to do is has not been officially proved, hence, at this point, we could wait around to see if any other community users have applied the same previously. Have a great day.

We have both types of racks the 4210  and 4220. The doors are different because of different type of the hinge and for sure the locking.  They share the same key.. thats all.
Keep in mind that the 4220 was available in different "sizes" which means extra width or extra deep and also extra height (48U instead the 42U standard).

Joerg

IIRC the old front door have 2 hinge pins (for sure for the back door) and the newer one only one(the upper). Take a look to https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/poweredge-4220_setup%20guide2_de-de.pdf page 9.

I will be back to my office in 2 weeks and than can i try to swap the doors between both if you want.

The 4210 and 4220 front door part numbers are the same, but there are different versions, such as standard and wide. So that is likely why they saw different latching etc. So as long as the doors are the same type then they should work on either unit.

Let me know if this helps.

I have the standard size 4220. You don't think a 4210 door could be removed and installed on a 4220?

From pictures I have seen it looks like the doors attach the exact same way on both racks, but I would like to be sure before purchasing a 4210 door.
