Dell R720 No Power button/LCD but Power on via Idrac
Hi Folks!
Troubleshooting a Dell PowerEdge R720. After a storm/power outage the unit did not come back up (all the other servers did).
Main Issue is that power button will not turn on system but Idrac Power On feature turns it right on. Need guidance for troubleshooting next steps to get the power button/LCD to work. More below.
Initial symptoms were the power button wouldnt turn on the system and the LCD was not lit. Lights on on Power Supplies, Lights on on network connections. Went through normal troubleshooting steps of reseating power supplies, swapping power supplies, reseating some core components, etc to no avail.
Logged into Idrac and the log looked like it had went through a graceful shutdown right around power outage. Used the Idrac Power On feature and lo and behold system came right up. Power button light comes on, but still no LCD
Any ideas on next steps to see if we can get the Power button component/lcd screen to work? Is this worth fixing?

Hello
The power button and LCD should be part of the same assembly, the control panel. It sounds like you should replace the control panel. It should be an easy part to swap and test from another system. There may be removal instructions in the manual on the system support page.
