Hello VCro!

Well... I've been cheeking the part numbers for the PowerEdge R340 and I found the Power SATA cable. Part description says: ASSY HDD/ODD Power SATA Cable

And it looks like this:

Part number is 9GKPP

Hope this helps.

Regards.

I can't seem to find the part. Would you be able to link the purchase page?

The required 2 cables are included in Dell Product No.: 429-ABIC (see below) which in return includes the Super Multi DVD Writer as well as both aforementioned cables.

The power cable is DP/N 0MGRV7

The SATA cable is DP/N 02TWHY  (see below)

Since Dell doesn't make it easy to order this part online (unless you are a Premier customer) you may have to look around for this part.

I found the DVD drive including cables new at TigerDirect DELL DVD RW SATA INTERNAL 9.5MM INT (429-ABIC) at TigerDirect.com.

Best regards

One word of caution to folks who are planning to add the DVD drive in the 8 x 2.5 chassis configuration. The rear right metal edge of the DVD drive housing will potentially nick the backplane power connector wires. To prevent this from happening I used additional tape on the power connector harness to wrap the exposed wires as the original wireloom isn't long enough to protect the individual wires.
