OS do not boot after restart, stucks F/W Intializing
Hi
I have Dell Server R740 EMC, i have RAID Controller H730P and i am trying to create RAID 5 with 4 SSDs.
I have successfully created RAID and also installed Windows Server 2016, now when I restarted my server, it stucks on F/W Initializing and takes long time to reach 100% and after that it does not find RAID controller and does not boot OS.
I Powered Off my server and again Powered it On then it finds RAID Controller and starts OS
All this story happens with SSDs but with SAS, it works completely fine
Any Suggestions?

Sherryrulz,
To start would you confirm a couple things for me?
What versions are the BIOS, iDrac, and raid controller at on updates?
What is the part numbers for the SSD's? So that I can verify compatibility.
Lastly, are the SSD's up to date on firmware?
Let me know what you see.

Thank you for the details. The SSDs don't appear to be supported on the R740, as I don't see a 512GB drive at all listed as supported. That doesn't mean they won't work, just that it isn't tested on the server.
As far as updates, I would go ahead and update the server, as you are a few updates back on BIOS and iDrac. I would walk both up to date and see if it helps with the issue. Let me know what you see.
