PowerEdge Memory Page Retire

One feature mentioned for 14G servers in Memory Errors and Dell EMC PowerEdge YX4X Server Memory RAS Features is "Memory Page Retire", where the BIOS declares certain RAM addresses as bad then the OS stops using them.

"... MPR can reduce memory error rates by as much as 94%" sounds great, but how to achieve this? Does anyone have MPR enabled in Linux?

One problem is that there are other articles (example) which recommend disabling in-kernel handling of memory errors, in order to allow iDRAC processing of read-once registers.

Hello, thanks for choosing Dell. What MDAC  does is, to log the server’s error on the OS level. When MDAC is turned off, idrac LC logs will be available.  I think in order to not to see the error, what you could do is maybe this -> “DDR4 Self-healing on Dell PowerEdge Servers”

I recommend BIOS version 2.1.x or above.
