PowerEdge R630: PCI1318 Fatal error on bus 0 device 2 function 0. Power cycle system.

This message appeared a few days after updating the OS from VMware ESXi 5.5 to ESXi 6.5u2. After reading some articles, I think the issue is firmware update.

Can this be confirmed?

Hello LisaLisa25,

First thing you can try is drain the flea power:

drain flea power (shut down, disconnect power cables and Network cables, hold in power button 20 seconds with cords removed).  After flea power drain, system has to set for 3 minutes for DRAC to reset without any power plugged in, then plug in NIC and power but wait 2 minutes before power on to give DRAC time to initialize

Does the log show you any error on a Slot near the error for the bus 0 device 2 function 0 error?

If so what is in the slot?

You may try reseat it or try in another slot if you can.

When you can confirm system firmware, BIOS, iDRAC,  are up to date.

I would ask and recommend did you use our  Dell Customized Image of VMware ESXi 6.5 U2 that has the Dell validated drivers included?

Our says:

PCI1320 Fatal error on bus 0 device 2 function 0

and power cycling has done nothing.. i have removed every PCIe rizer and cards, reseated everything,  later started getting PCI1320 Fatal error on bus 0 device 3 function 0 , so it has moved around.   nothing is clear to indicate what device 2 or 3 is from what bus 0 is.   even removed the top CPU/MEM secondary board, and running on just the bottom CPUs and MEM. still have that issue.  removed all cards and tried running without NCD or any adapter cards, then perc raid controller on slot 7 starting acting up , moved to slot 6 - multiple failures with either slot. replaced thermal cpu paste, reseat all the RAM . bad system board?????????
