PowerEdge R730, upgrade from iDRAC8 to iDRAC9
Is it in anyways possible to upgrade a PowerEdge R730 with iDRAC8 Enterprise to a iDRAC9 Enterprise?
As I understand from this article that it does indeed not support it, but is that really true?
As I asked a third-party which I tried to buy it through - commented that it did not matter which Rack server you had, the license would still be able to upgrade from iDRAC8 to iDRAC9..
What is correct here?

Hello
the article you gave is about upgrade differents firmware versions, but IDRAC8 and iDRAC9 are completely different hardware.
Since it belong to different generations, upgrade to idrac9 means that you install another hardware that normally is not compatible with the server. Idrac9 only compatible with R740 generation.
