RAM Installation: Channel Patterns Based On Speed
Hello guys,
Newbie here.
I own a refurbished Dell PowerEdge R710 and I cannot get the memory speed up to 1333MHz. The modules are running at this speed and I think that there is something with the installation pattern regarding to the manual:
http://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/poweredge-r710_Owner%27s%20Manual_en-us.pdf
I have 2 CPUs and now the two identical RAM modules use A1 and B1.
In which slots should I install the ram modules in order to have speed 1333MHz and full functionality?
Unless my installation is wrong, should there be a misconfiguration through bios/iDRAC?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Thanks for the details.
Seems like the processor does not support 1333 speed, based on Intel's ARK details on the processor: https://dell.to/39Fk5na

Hi there,
Can I know your BIOS and BMC version, what processor are you using, and probably a picture of the memory specs that you are using.

Hello @DELL-Joey C,
Thank you for your reply. As I said noob here, it took me time to find BMC info. I assumed you mean iDRAC firmware so we have the following:

Hello @DELL-Joey C ,
That has totally slipped of my attention and of course, the outcome is based on CPU, not in RAM installation.
Thank you for you support.
Best regards,
