Rear Rack Door will not close
When I install a new server (2850 or newer) the mounts for cable management hits our 42u rear rack door and doees not allow the door to close. The rack I have is an older rack (6+ years old.) I have one newer rack with a different rear door that does not have this problem. When I went to Dell to buy a newer rack door, they would not sell me the rear without having to buy the front also. Has anyone modified these doors before? I thought about cutting into the door to get it to fit..........Any ideas?

We have the same problem in putting in some 2970 servers in our old rack. We just had to leave the back door off. Even getting the new type of doors wouldn't help as the old rack isn't as deep as the new ones that these servers will fit in.

There are some 3rd Pary Cable Management Arms available that don't take up as much space as the Dell CMA's.
