Very High Performance fans for r7525
I am looking to upgrade the 6 fans in my r7525 server. It current has the standard fans. I am trying to find out the difference between the following options:
PowerEdge R7525 Very High Performance Fan Customer Kit V3 384-BCTS
PowerEdge R7525 Very High Performance Fan Customer Kit 384-BCXN
Does anyone know the difference between the V3 and the non-V3? There is about a $20 difference in price for each of the 6 fans.
I am also trying to understand whether or not it is necessary to upgrade from the standard fans. I am upgrading the cpus from 2 x 7413 to 2 x 7h12s. I needed to upgrade the PSUs from 2 x 800 to 2 x 1400. Now I am trying to see if the fans also need to be upgraded. When spec'ing out a new r7525 with these items, it seems to force standard fans depending on the heatsinks/riser options. I have the 2U high performance heat sinks (not the L-shaped heatsink for the gpu riser options). I do plan on using several 100GE mellanox NICs that could use the extra cooling.
thanks for any advice,
jp
