How do I change WAN replication from FC to IP or viceversa?
I need to change replication medium from FC (currently configured) to IP as client is having issues with FC link. Once fixed I need to switch it back to FC from IP. What is the basic steps? and also what are the implecations on replicas?

Can you clarify what you mean by "as client is having issues." Which client? RPA?

Sorry got caught up with other thing.
Basically FC link is not working as we planned to replicate via FC link. So interim step is to configure RPA to use IP (WAN) to replicate which is currently replicating. Once FC link is fixed, the plan is to switch replication over to FC link. So I am after how to re-configure RPAs to use FC link and not loose any replicated images or configuration.

you will need to
* use the CLI to export your system settings
* save your account settings
* perform a reconfiguration of RecoverPoint (installation option) and select FC or IP as your new replication transport mechanism
* re-import your system settings
This change will require a resync of all CGs (checksum comparision of data, and differential data copied over)
I suggest you read the admin guide on the export and import of your configs covered there and also talk to support or EMC on anything specific to your environment.
James.

Thanks very much James. I'll check the export/import guide.
Will let you know once I have done it. Still waiting for the FC link.
Cheers

Hello James, is there is any way to configure the cluster to use IP & FC at the same time? i mean to use FC for two RPAs and FC for the rest ?

Im sorry, not at this time.
If there is a requirement to use both links for data center replication with Recoverpoint, you will need two RecoverPoint clusters (seperate instances)

Team
So I have 4 by RPAs - 2 sites, 2 clusters.
Currently they are replicating over FC plus in the CLI the Cluster Communication (under Cluster Operations) is set to FC.
The RPA's are version 4.
I have tried both the Deployment Manager and the CLI and cannot see the options to set the replication topology to IP.
If you look at Changing Recoverpoint Replication method from IP to FC
the option in the CLI is no longer there - the option is quoted as:
** Main Menu **
...
Boston-CX RPA2: 2
** Setup **
...
Boston-CX RPA2: 1
** Modify **
...
[1] Environment setup <- does not appear
Any ideas? I have detached the RPAs from the cluster, etc ...

Hi Paul, this is an older thread and I do not want to confuse topics, but the short answer is that starting with RecoverPoint 4.0 this is available under the 'Cluster Operations' option in the boxmgmt CLI. Also, please refer to the Q1-2014 RecoverPoint Uptime Bulletin which discussed this conversion, the UB is available on support.emc.com
Thanks,
Zahid

Thanks heaps. That confirmed what I already thought.
The problem I have is that the output I see is a bit different to the quoted in this bulletin.
For example when I run those options and display the connections then the cluster connection between the sites is set to IP (which is great and what I want) but the local cluster is still FC.
Now this may not be a problem as I have no issues with the 2 local RPAs chatting over FC. However do I need to zone them together?
At the moment all of the RPAs are zoned to see each other as well as the arrays but I was intending to undo the zoning between RPAs
This is the CLI output I have after doing this process on each RPA:
