Have you tried logging into CLI as admin and issuing command get_box_states? Is that the information you need?

You can acquire the serial number of your RPAs as follows:
1. By physically checking the serial ID sticker on top of the RPA (not always easy once they're installed).
2. By contacting EMC Support - hopefully the serial IDs of the RPAs have been registered by the CE/IDE.
3. Via the GUI if running version 3.4 or later.
4. Via the get_box_states CLI command if running version 3.4 or later.

What is the meaning of CE/IDE.
I can't get the CE/IDE information in get_box_states command
I hope, CE is cluster enable. Iam not sure about IDE..

CE = Customer Engineer and IDE = Implementation Delivery Engineer.

I have the SN but the appliance is powered off. How do I use the sn to find the GEN?

If you are physically in front of the appliance that is powered off, you can refer to the primus for the generations since they are different server families.
