Hi John,

Connectivity between clusters over the LAN/MGMT ports is completely optional, meaning that the system would work just fine without any LAN connectivity between clusters (and there are many deployments with this config) but we would use this pathway for control path if it exists, if not, it would be over the WAN ports.

Note that if LAN and WAN on the same subnet then it means couple of things:

1) All traffic would go through the LAN interface

2) In 5.0 and later, if LAN and WAN are on the same network, one interface and consequently one IP can be used.
