KVSS in Windows 2012 and VMFS/RDM volume ?
Hi,
few questions about the kvss.exe utility available in RecoverPoint 4.x.
1) Can kvss be run and/or is it supported in Windows Server 2012 environment ?
2) Any limitations to run kvss in a Virtual Machine (VMware) with Windows Server (2003/2008 or 2012) ?
3) Any limitations to run kvss from Windows Server if the VM contains data stored in VMFS or RDM volume ?

Hi there,
kvss is supported for Windows 2012 (physical or virtual) but it has not been qualified for Windows 2012 R2. Also, there is bug with Windows 2012 whereby the log file does not truncate. This will be fixed at v4.1.
On this basis Windows 2012 R2 would require an RPQ submission.
