RPA WAN link failure

Hi

What happens when the WAN link between sites fail and while the RPA store the changes locally in journals, is there a timeout or replication stoppage to redo the initialization again?

please advise.  Thanks.

Hi Chan,

RecoverPoint takes approx. 60 secs to determine that the WAN link is down and then rechecks the link every 3 seconds.

As soon as the link is restored replication will resume with the RPAs performing large reads from the source array using the marking data stored in the journals. This will show as an initialization or 'Init' against the affected CGs.

Richard

Hi Richard

Thanks for the info.

But what happens if it takes 24hrs to resume? It will just start the initialisation process?

The system doesn't have a cut off time period where it moves from a 'short' initialization using marking information to a long initialization unless the new data stream fills during the short initialization period.
