This is the supported configuration of stretch CDP:
The production host exists at the local site, splitters and storage exist at both the local site and target site, and the RPAs only exist at the target site. In this configuration, the repository volume and the production and replica copy journals exist at the target site.

Just to add to Rich's response, you can find the limits of the config in the RP Release Notes as well:
