RecoverPoint and Blade Servers?

Hi,

I currently have RecoverPoint running between HP DL boxes at two separate sites. I would like to introduce an HP Blade box at my remote site and was wondering if anyone knew if there would be any issues with using RP this setup?

I'm not that familiar with blade boxes at the moment and just wanted to know if the fibre connectors on the back of the enclosures are just pass through so they would work with RP or if there is some kind of switching that would stop RP from working (using Cisco SANTAP)?

Any comments welcome!

Thanks

Dan

First of all, I would check EMC Support Matrix to find out if your specific models are supported and are compatible with the rest of your environment. Second, you need to make sure that different servers can run the same application residing on the replicated LUN's. If you were replicating the boot LUN than the O/S might have a problem coming up on a different hardware.

Are you using the Cisco Virtual Switch on the HP Blades? If so, it should work fine with SANTAP. Make sure the model and firmware levels are on the EMC support matrix. If so, then just add your Blade Servers to the FrontEnd VSAN.
