No. A full sweep marks all blocks as dirty whereas Direct Image Access works in a different way. When you disable Direct Image Access the RP system checks the dirty blocks at both the source and remote journal copies (metadata in the bitmaps) and sends all of the dirty blocks from source and any dirty blocks from the remote copy that are not marked as dirty from the source.

So in effect it is a smart initialization but it is neither a full sweep or full init.
