SAN Copy session grabs wrong target LUN

I have configured a SAN Copy session for my exchange environment. A few of the LUNs are identical in size and I created LUNs on my target array exactly the same size as my source LUNs. When SAN copy kicks off through RM, it's mixing up the target LUNs for the session.

I tried to manually change the target in Navisphere but the RM job is still looking for the mix matched LUN and fails. I also tried re-creating the job. Please let me know if I can do anything about this.

Thanks

Drozz

I recommend you open an EMC service request for this issue as your environment will need a detailed analysis (zoning, etc) to determine the issue.

We can of course update here later with the resolution found.

Thanks
James.

OK I will open a ticket. I understand how it's happening because 5 of the 9 LUNs are exactly the same size and they are the ones that went to different targets than I intended. Replication is working fine and I'm confident I can mount and use the replicas. It would just be a little cleaner if the LUN numbers matched up.

Thanks
Dave

I will have to breakup the storage groups into separate jobs with separate storage pools if I want that granularity. I have 4 storage groups running in 1 job and RM will grab which ever LUN in the pool meets its storage requirements. If I break up the job into 4 separate jobs, each storage pool will contain 2 luns at different sizes and RM will then grab the proper target.

Thanks James and I hope this was helpful
