I didn't see this reposted in the Replication Support Forum so I'll provide some feedback here.
More often than not, you will find that the volume is a "system drive". If you check the properties of the volume, most likely the ACTIVE flag was set (whether or not it was intentional). Open Migrator will not let you migrate these volumes because of the nature of them as they can potentially contain boot information. It can be cleared with the diskpart command; however, you need to verify first why it was set (or may need to find an alternative solution).
Thank you for your response Christopher Imes. I do not have moderation rights to the forums yet so I was unable to move the topic and I seldomly create a discussions.
tdubb Please, let us know if your query is answered. If yes, please mark the discussion answered.
If no, we will go ahead and move this discussion to appropriate forum!
For the specific issue you are inquiring about (greyed out menu item when right-clicking on source volume), we can temporarily ignore the target. Even if you don't have any eligible targets either same size or greater, OM Filter driver not attached to any candidate targets, etc. the "Migrate volume..." menu item will still be available but after you select it, you'd be informed of "No targets available for this volume".
Therefore, let's focus on the configuration of the source volume for now as noted above.

Thank you for your question.
I believe this question would be answered best by ECN Contributors and Experts from the Replication Support Forum
I would request forum moderators to move the Discussion to the appropriate forum.

While we wait for someone to move this post, can you review what OM is reporting for the source volume?
1) If UAC is enabled, right-click Run as Administrator
2) Right-click on "Data Migration on " on left panel and issue a "Rescan disk and volumes"
3) Select the "Volumes" section on the left panel and review the following columns for the source volume:
a) System Disk: Yes/No
b) Migration State: Ready?
c) Volume Status Description: Ok?

not sure why responding from a mobile device shows up blank.
I was saying both source and target drives are not system drives, they are rdm luns mapped to the vm.
can this be moved to the openmigrator forums?
thanks
