Windows 2012 and ERS GW

Hi,

My customer is about to install the Remote Support Gateway.

EMC CS team informed the customer about the requisites for installation and for the OS the latest version is Windows 8.

The customer is saying that they cannot buy Windows 8 because it is EOS and his Microsoft dealer can only sell Windows 2012.

My question is:  Is it possible to have ERS installed and supported in Windows 2012?

Best Regards,

Yes I did.  Sorry for that.  It is Windows Server 2008.

Do you know if we can support Windows Server 2012?

Alex

does not look like 2012 is officially supported according to ESRS planning guide. Have you considered using Linux for your gateway servers (save $ on win2k12 licenses) ?

See ESRS 2.22 Release Notes for the details but W2K12 is not supported on Hyper-V for ESRS, only W2K8 and Linux.

probably just misleading.

I think, Aya probably wants to know virtual os is windows server 2008 R2 SP1 which is created by windows server 2012 hyper-V is supported or not. if Aya thinks so, the answer is yes, suported.

virtual OS: windows server 2008 R2 SP1  /  Hyper-V with windows server 2008 ---> supported

virtaul OS: windows server 2008 R2 SP1 /  Hyper-V with windows server 2012 --> supported

virtual OS: windows server 2012      / Hyper-V with windows server 2012 --> not supported
