The answer to your first query I believe is documented in the SourceOne Admin Guide under “Identity Management” section. In summary ownership of emails in Domino environments are dependent on three formats SMTP, Domain and Canonical addresses for the user. If you do not recycle the info and user had the same info on the new domino domain then you might be able to get away with it. There is a section in the docs to suggest what is needed and how to add it. Please test it for a test user and see if it serves the purpose for you.
In regards to resting all emails using a script unfortunately that do not exist at this time. One manual method could be to have a Distribution Group against which restore job runs every night. You can add the users to that group in the day, next morning that should be restored. Again if you like the idea you will have to test it.
Please follow the “Identity Management” guidelines even for users that are leaving the organization because if user comes back or you will have to do a legal discovery in future for this users emails, that would come handy at that time. Usually I saw customers having another NAB in place where they move the person docs and maintain it there, once a request comes in they move the user back to the normal NAB in use.
