Migrating Exchange\Emaikl Extender to new Organization

My company just got bought out and the integration plan calls for us to migrate all of our mail to a new server assigned to the parent company's Exchange Org and AD forest.

Do I need to re-import all of my shortcut emails to my mail server and then migrate or is there an easier way to do this? I don't suppose there is a way to migrate the mail without having to re-import the shortcuts from archive, migrate to the new org and then re-archive the email?

I couldn't think of one offhand, but I wanted to make sure before proposing the plan I have drawn out, which is time and labor intensive. I'd prefer an easier method if there is one.
