Sourceone data move.

Hi everyone,

We are using Sourceone version 6.6 for e-mail archiving and also we are using Centera for the store this data. We don't have any space on centera storage and we bought EMC Data Domain. Now we can store new e-mail data to Data Domain storage.

I want to move just 2013 archive data from Centera to data domain. Does anyone know a way about it

best regards.

Greetings,

Supported method would be to copy data from one archive to another using web search. That is very time consuming task and some issues could be encountered while doing so if large number of messages will be copied over.

EMC support has tools that may help with pulling data from Centera to file system. Those will be the EMX files and attachments (if LC configuration used). Later on those will need to be ingested into new archive. EMC Partners, EMC Consulting and EMC support might have some options available. You may want to consult these parties.

Cannot you just leave all data up till Jan 2014 on Centera and then remaining data on new archive folder that will be on Data Domain ?

One more thing to watch for, 6.6 is a very old version. With current available version being 7.0.2, EMC is about to release 7.1 version in Feb (if things goes well with QA). You should look to upgrade because there are no new fixes or enhancements being added to the 6.6.* versions.

Thanks,

Rajan

Not sure if you got this done or not and this is a plug. Datadobi is the certfied EMC migration solution for S1 migrations from Centera to Data Domain. You can request the service via your EMC account rep.
