DP4400 and Avamar Proxy Question

Hi,

I am new to the Dell Data Protection realm but I have plenty of experience with Commvault, Vertias, and Symantic EndPoint. I am in the process of taking the OnDemand Course for DP4400 and have a few question in regard to the Avamar Proxy deployment.

It is stated;
Deploy the Avamar proxy on each vCenter datacenter cluster that you intend to protect.
So this is deploying a OVA template configured by Avamar to deploy on the customers VMware environment.

What is the size of the deployment and does it grow in size as it moves data?
What OS is it deploying and are there any limitations as to the version of the customers VMware environment?
Is this the same requirement for HyperV as well?

I have been in shops with physical servers, VMware, and HyperV, deployments with multiple backup needs, hence my question.

The getting started training only covers deploying to a vmware environment and does not go to deep or anywhere else. So not being in a classroom environment is a little difficult.
