Blu-Ray Backup?

So on my new XPS 435T I see where I have to make a backup myself for a recovery CD. I also have a nice Blu-Ray burner drive that I got with this PC. So I start up Dell Datasafe Local Backup and chose to create recovery media. However when I insert a Blu-Ray disc, I am not able to burn the disc. I get a message stating the following below.

I have tried two different kinds of Blu-Ray discs and I get this each time. These are brand new discs that have never been used, so there is no data on them. I am also using a BD-R, so this is not a rewriteable disc as far as I know.

What is going on here????

Hi Pearlz,

According to these instructions, you need a blank DVD.

Hope that helps!

I have thought about using a DVD which I do not currently have at the moment. However, if that is the case, why does it say you can use Blu Ray and the information that came with my PC about creating the disc also said the same thing; I could use a DVD or Blu Ray.

Not sure, but try a DVD and see if it works.
