Bogus file stuck in CD Drive

Using XP, I was sending files to CD through CD writing task. A temporary file is stuck in the drivee, waiting to be written. (The is no permament file of this name.) The file name is incomplete and file path is not specified. When I write the file to CD, it says "Error in writing process." When I try to delete the temporary file from CD writer, it says "can not find specified file." When I try to locate the temporary file via windows search, it is not found. I can not drag the file from the CD path either. It is still sitting there, ready to be written, but not deleteable or writable. Any ideas on how I can get rid of this file? Tks.

Hi, lakegirl:

Boot to safe mode and you'll be able to delete the file from there. You'll need to locate the file, which is stored in the %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning folder.
