CD drive

I am using a Dell Inspiron 530 (Vista). When I try to insert a CD with pictures to view, or insert a blank CD to burn some pictures I get this edit: Please insert a disk into Removable Disk (K:).

Can anyone me what my problem might be? I am not very keen on computer stuff. Hopefully I am posting this message in the right Dell area!

I would appreciate any help you can give me.
