Cd Drive is not working?
I have a Inspiron 530 with Window Vista Basic. I can not listen to music or rip music or use a DVD movie it shows that a cd drive is needed. What do I need to do to fix this promble?

Hi, Martin:
It sounds like your drive may not be recognizing when there is a disc in the drive. This may be either a hardware problem with the drive itself or a software problem. To check the hardware, run the Dell diagnostics. This will test whether the drive is working or not. You will be prompted to insert various disc types.
Let me know if you get a passing or failing result for the READ test.
