DVD/CD drive malfunctioning.

I sent in my computer for repair a few months back and got it back after three times of even more errors. I don't use much discs, so I didn't discover this problem right away. My disc drive doesn't read some discs, reads others extremely sow. I've updated the drivers. I've reinstalled my Roxio burn. I can't think of anything that can fix the problem. Help please.

Studio Laptop 1749. Windows 7 64 bit. ( I think it's 64 anyway. ) And all I can find on the disc-driver is "HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GA31N ATA Device". No bleeding idea of what that is. Drive version: 6.1.7601.17514.

PC Model?  Operating System?  Drive Model number?

Suggest you run Dell Support Center (if installed, if not you should be able to download) and then run the Analysis Report (scan) for the DVD drive.  You can also uninstall driver and reinstall.
