DVD ROM makes a grinding noise
Hi Everybody
I have a Inspiron 2650. When I switch on my laptop the DVD/CD-RW rom makes a grinding noise. When I try to use any CD it does not run. It again makes a grinding noise once the CD is put inside. I hardly used this drive. Rarely watched movies on it. Can n e know what might be the problem !! ??

It sounds like the drive needs to be replaced.
You can about setting up a repair.

My Insperon is making the same noise! We can't afford a replacement drive (i.e. we are saving money to move twice). Please, Dell, help us.
