Dell 9150 Need to add a 3rd SATA drive bay

Hi,

Presently the computer has 2 x 250 GB SATA hard drives.  It also has 2 DVD drives and a media card reader.  Can anyone provide a recommendation on how to add a 3rd SATA drive bay?  Thanks!

You will need to either add it in an external case with a usb or firewire connection or your are going to have to pull one of your optical s to free up a sata port. unless you add in a PCI SATA driver card.

There are only 4 SATA port on the motherboard.

There is an available SATA port as the opticals use IDE connectors.  Pulling one of the drives would provide space for a 3rd HDD.  However, are you aware of any compatible drive bay add-on for this model?

Opticals:

D7191 Assembly, Digital Video Disk Drive, 16X, Half Height, Hitachi Lg Data Storage, CHASSIS 2005...
ND504 Assembly, DVD+/-RW..., 16X, IDE Hitachi LG Data Storage, CHASSIS 2005...
