Do you have an older computer?  This often happens on the Dimension series computers when the CMOS back-up cell on the motherboard fails.  At this point, the default BIOS settings are loaded, and since default on the older machines includes the setting for a diskette drive, you get the failure notice.

To eliminate the message, replace the CR 2032 back-up cell on the motherboard, start the computer, and go to System Setup using the F2 key during the self test window.  Locate the legacy settings using the keyboard arrow keys, find the setting for the diskette drive (which can be labeled A: on some machines) and set it to Not Present or Off, whichever is available.  Once you have done that, your error message should go away.

EDIT:  One additional bit of info; this can also happen if your hard drive fails.  If the computer cannot boot the hard drive because the boot information has become damaged, or the actual hardware has failed, the computer looks elsewhere for boot information, to include the non-existent disk drive.  If, having replaced the CMOS back-up cell and setting the diskette drive to off, you still get the error message, you need to run the diagnostics to see if the hard drive is still working.
