Does the standard Dell Inspiron 530 Come With Dual Layer DVD ROM?
Just wondering if the Dell Inspiron 530 I bought a couple of months back has a dual layer DVD ROM drive? I'm not sure how to find out - I didn't upgrade it or anything while purchasing so it's the standard one that came with it.
Many thanks in advance

Look in the Device Manager..........
Start | Control Panel | System in classic view | Hardware tab | Device Manager
Click on the (+) next to DVD/CD-ROM drives. Post the brand and model of the drive.

Thanks for the reply Skybird!
The DVD drive is TSST Corp DVD+-RW TS-H53B
The reason I need to know is because there's a piece of music software I need to install that requires a dual layer drive for some reason

I am guessing the model number you posted should be TS-H653B and
not TS-H53B. If so, it is a dual-layer burner. The User's Guide
is here ........

Just to note: Dual-layer DVD media can be variable in quality.

Yeah you're right I missed the '6' out - sorry about that.
That's a relief, it's purely for installing off a DVD ROM, no writing involved.
Thanks a lot for the help!!!!! :smileyhappy:
Take care
